Welcoming you back to face to face teaching.
How many days, weeks, months has it been? I’ve lost count. Time seemed both to stand still and unravel at full velocity. We had some spectacular Autumn weather with crisp clear mornings and sunny afternoons. We walked our streets and noticed the silence. Food was home made and shared. For some life was busier than ever, for some time opened up like a vortex. We muddled our way through learning about new digital platforms grateful for the technology that allowed us to connect whilst yearning to hold and be held. Our troubles aren’t over yet but slowly and gently we are able to come back to the things we know and love.
Class will start back July 13. Things will be a little different as you would expect. There is no going back, we can only go forward. If we are sick we must stay home. Government restrictions will continue to change. Everything needs to be more flexible but it also needs to come from a solid foundation so we don’t end up unhinged. To that end I am pleased to announce that I will be supported in my teaching by both Bec Marshall and Miriam Coombs. They both have a wealth of knowledge between them and I am confident that you will learn much from them. I hope you will welcome them and support the classes they teach and in doing so we will all benefit from the added brains trust and flexibly classes. Find out a little more about them here:
Online Booking!!
We will also be shifting to an online booking platform. This will mean you will no longer have to commit to a whole term of yoga. Classes will be sold singularly or as a multi-class pass of 5, 10 or 20. The multi-class passes will not expire until the end of the year giving you the flexibility to roll them over to Term 4 as need be. You can purchase a multi-class pass from the PASSES navigation on the webpage and then follow the prompts from the confirmation email to then book into the whatever class times you wish. Or you can just go straight to the BOOKING page and book into a single class. You can book into a class up to 1 hour before the class starts and cancel a class up to 12 hours prior to the class. So familiarise yourself with the new system, make yourself an account for speedy checkout and book some classes. YAY! It’s that easy. Things will be tweaked and improved over time so if you have any issues with the booking process please let me know. And feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have navigating the system.
COVID-19 Safe practices
This is all fairly obvious stuff these days, who would have know! But please read through all this to remind yourselves and read what I will be doing too.
Don’t come to class if you are sick, even if it’s just a sniffle. Join the zoom group instead.
Bring your own mat, eye pillow, blanket, whatever you prefer. If you would like to borrow any of these items let me know. If you forget just use one of ours and take it home to wash and return.
Use the hand sanitiser as you enter and exit class.
Try not to bring too much stuff to class. Place your stuff in a spot near the wall away from everyone else’s stuff.
Spread out around the room. We are lucky we have such a big room, use it!
Still take your shoes off at the from door, just be patient and wait for others to finish. Don’t crowd the door.
Please use the toilets through the double door in the other room.
I will be wiping all the surfaces and moping the floors before and after each class.
I will provide hand sanitiser but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
I won’t be doing any adjustments so I will be talking more. I may mention you by name to bring your attention to something in particular. This is not an admonishment! You are not in trouble! I know using gentle touch is often less confronting so if you find it upsetting let me know and I will happily respect those boundaries.
And last but not least, be kind, many in our community are struggling and often silently. Please no harsh words and no judgments.
